The goal of Ransom Ministries is to bring pleasure to God by rescuing women at risk or in prostitution in the red-light district of Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Prostitution is often the highest paying job available for young women who have debts or are supporting their family. Because of this, many women choose to stay even when offered a way out of this lifestyle. Our goal is to show them who Jesus is by sharing His love and giving hope for freedom. We believe that every lady (and man) was specifically designed by God for a purpose. We also believe that because of sin these women do not realize their value and worth in God’s heart, and consequently enter prostitution.  Our desire is to introduce them to their Creator and help them establish a genuine relationship with Him.

Ransom A

The work of Ransom includes a Discipleship/Skills Center and training program where ladies committed to change are involved in training and Bible classes. Ransom is renting a two-story building that is set up for teaching English and Bible classes. It also has a kitchen, dining room, office, and card making room. Housing is also provided for those wanting to receive training.

Ransom

The outreach aspect of Ransom includes ministry nights of prayer walking and passing out invitations to English and Thai classes which are offered three days a week. As we pass out invitations we ask God to give us opportunities to engage the women in conversation, thereby having opportunity to show God’s love to them and speak into their lives. Teaching classes gives us an opportunity to develop deeper relationships with the women, and provides an avenue for them to leave the work they are involved in and become involved in the discipleship and skills training.
